SheetCleaner Pro Documentation

1. Installation

Install SheetCleaner Pro from the Google Workspace Marketplace:

1. Open your Google Sheet
2. Go to Extensions → Add-ons → Get add-ons
3. Search for "SheetCleaner Pro"
4. Click Install and follow the prompts

2. Basic Usage

Once installed, access SheetCleaner Pro through:

• Extensions → SheetCleaner Pro → Open
• The sidebar will open with cleaning options

Text & Whitespace Operations

Comprehensive text manipulation and cleaning tools:

• Clean Whitespace: Remove extra spaces, tabs, and line breaks
• Change Text Case: Convert to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Proper Case, or Sentence case
• Find & Replace: Find specific text and replace with new text
• Add Prefix/Suffix: Add text to the beginning or end of each cell
• Remove Characters: Remove letters, numbers, symbols, or custom characters

Structural Operations

Reorganize and restructure your spreadsheet data:

• Split Column: Split by comma, space, semicolon, full name, or custom delimiter
• Join Columns: Merge multiple columns with custom separators
• Remove Duplicates: Delete rows that are exact duplicates
• Remove Empty: Remove empty rows or cells based on selected columns

Data Types & Formatting

Convert and standardize data formats:

• Convert to Numbers: Convert text to clean numbers, remove currency symbols
• Standardize Dates: Convert various date formats to MM/DD/YYYY standard
• Convert to Plain Text: Remove formulas and hyperlinks, keep display values

Extract specific data patterns and advanced operations:

• Extract Email Addresses: Find and extract all email addresses to new column
• Extract URLs: Find and extract all URLs to new column
• Extract Phone Numbers: Find and extract phone numbers to new column
• Remove HTML Tags: Remove HTML tags and keep plain text
• Custom Regex Operations: Use regular expressions for advanced text operations

Automate multiple cleaning operations:

• Create Workflows: Combine multiple cleaning operations into a single workflow
• Save & Reuse: Save workflows to reuse on similar datasets
• Sequential Processing: Apply operations in a specific order automatically

Before Cleaning

• Always make a backup copy of your sheet
• Test cleaning operations on a small sample first
• Review the data to understand what needs cleaning

During Cleaning

• Clean data in small batches for better control
• Use the preview feature to see changes before applying
• Keep track of what changes you've made
